Valero Doval’s compositions invite us inside. He navigates through printed ephemera, revealing the interior. His collages are an unlikely intersection between pure geometry and memories of the past. It is as if breathing under each lamina, latent and brilliant, lies a network of connections. What emerges is that which is between the lines and levels. The equilibrium Doval attains is, at once, casual, poetic, and circus-like. Doval has invented a spectroscope that exposes in his images a hidden anatomy; shapes, peaceful and happy, float around us like a surreal opening for a purely artistic otherness and ideal.
